Li Na - Runner-up - Australian Open 2011
Li Na improved from her semi-final appearance last year, with a finals appearance this year. She lost however, to Kim Clijsters. Li, who endeared herself to the Australian Open audience this year, with her honest banters that dwelled on her love for shopping and her problems with her husband's snoring, encountered heightened aggression from Kim Clijsters, and was, in the end, unable to match the ferocious forehands unleashed by her opponent. Anyhow, with her much improved play, it looks like it's going to be a busy year for Li, and we hopefully want to see her in other Grand Slam finals, as well. This was her path to the finals -
