Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova: Semifinalist - WTA Brisbane International:
What! Another Russian! They seem to be everywhere and Anastasia is currently ranked at #21. She reaches her first semifinal this year at the Brisbane International, but loses to Petrak Kvitova. This was her path to the semifinals -
SF - loses to Petra Kvitova (CZE) (#34) 64 46 62
QF - Lucie Safarova (CZE) (#33) 62 67(4) 63
2R - Bojana Jovanovski (SRB) (#76) 62 75
1R - Alla Kudryavtseva (RUS) (#60) 62 67(5) 63
Anastasia had to go through three grueling three-setters in this tournament but this should dust off all the rust from the off season and be good preparation for Melbourne.
