Yanina Wickmayer: Runner-Up - Auckland Classic 2011
Yanina Wickmayer wasn't able to defend her Auckland Classic title, losing to veteran Greta Arn. This was her path to the finals -
F - loses to Greta Arn (HUN) (#88) 63 63
SF - Peng Shuai (CHN) (#72) 36 76(3) 75
QF - Simona Halep (ROU) (#84) 60 62
2R - Sabine Lisicki (GER) (#175) 62 36 62
1R - Dinara Safina (RUS) (#63) 63 67(2) 61
This was a tough tournament for Yanina, as she had three three-setters as almost everyone really took their games to her. Anyhow, that should take off the rust from her off season and prepare her for the upcoming Australian Open.
