Stanislas Wawrinka - Quarterfinalist - Australian Open 2011
Stanislas Wawrinka is one of the surprise quarterfinalists in this year's Australian Open. This is the deepest he has ever reached in the Australian Open. He has also been a quarterfinalist in the US Open in 2008. However, his dream run ended today, as he lost comprehensively to countryman Roger Federer.
QF - lost to Roger Federer (SUI) (#2) 61 63 63
4R - Andy Roddick (USA) (#8) 63 64 64
3R - Gael Monfils (SUI) (#13) 76(4) 62 63
2R - Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) (#105) 75 63 63
1R - Teymuraz Gabashvili (RUS) (#78) 76(4) 63 63
Stan had two fabulous wins over Gael Monfils and Andy Roddick, which allowed him to reach that far in this tournament. This is also a good start for him this year.
