Veteran Israeli player Dudi Sela, currently ranked #106, is the Male Breakthrough Player in this year's Australian Open. He reached the third round and defeated Lukas Rosol or the Czech Republic and Struff of Germany. He lost to Rafael Nadal in the third round.
He also reached the third round here in 2009.
This award is given to the player ranked outside the top 100 who reached the deepest into the main draw of the indicated grand slam.
