Angelique Kerber (#6) has had a fantastic summer, reaching the finals in Cincinnati, losing to Li Na in the finals. However, what she did in the earlier rounds were what is more significant! She defeated Petra Kvitova in the semi's and Serena Williams in the quarters, two players who are hot favorites to win this year's US Open. She also won over Andrea Hlavackova and Timea Babos, both very competent players.
