Jack Sock: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Reached the Third Round of the US Open 2012

For the first time in his career, Jack Sock of the US, ranked #243 in the world, gets into the third round of the US Open 2012.  He defeated Florian Mayer of Germany, ranked #23 in the world 63 63 32 (retd) in the first round.  He then proceeded to defeat Flavio Cipolla of Italy, ranked #87, in the second round, 62 62 64.

He now gets to play with the big boys in the third round, as he meets eleventh seed, Nicolas Almagro of Spain.  Good luck to Jack!
