Petra Kvitova puts herself in good company, becoming this year's winner of the Canadian Open, this year, being held in Montreal. The competition venue alternates between Toronto and Montreal. The previous winners of this championship the past five years are -

Only Serena and Caroline are still active in the WTA tour. Petra edged Li Na 75 26 63 in the final. In the semi's, Petra won over Caroline Wozniacki 36 62 63. She won over Tamira Paszek in the quarters 63 62.
This is Petra's first title this year.
