Kristyna Pliskova: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 who has reached the 2d round of the US Open 2012

Kristyna Pliskova of the Czech Republic, ranked #125, qualified for the main draw, and she won her first round match against Julia Goerges (#21) 76(4) 61.  It was an impressive performance by the Czech since she defeated a seeded player.  She also reached the second round of Wimbledon this year.  She has a good chance of reaching the third round since her second round opponent is Mandy Minella of Luxembourg, ranked #79.
