Li Na (#9) has finally won a title, this time at Cincinnati after her French Open victory two years ago. This should help her confidence as the US Open open this coming week. She won over Angelique Kerber (#6) in the finals 16 63 61, Agnieszka Radwanska in the semi's, Johanna Larsson (#76), and Sorana Cirstea (#38).
In the Montreal Open, she also almost won, losing to Petra Kvitova in the finals 75 26 63. She won over Lucie Safarova (#23), Agnieszka Radwanska, Sara Errani and Eugenie Bouchard.
This good performance this summer bodes well for Li Na. Hopefully, she does well in Flushing Meadows.
