The Arrival of Laura Robson

For the past year or so, there has been a buzz surrounding Laura Robson, one of Britain's best hopes for women's tennis.  She finally showed her potential in this US Open, as she held her nerve and displayed her power game for all the world to see, as she dispatched the well-loved Kim Clijsters in the second round of the US Open.  

Laura just played superbly showing great serves, powerful groundstrokes and she did not panic at all as Kim fought her way back several times in the first and second sets.  Laura just knew how to pick herself up when she made bad shots.  At 18, that's an impressive sign of maturity!  

In her third round match, she outplayed French Open champion Li Na, playing much better and showing no fear or nerves at all.  With that win, she secures a spot in the fourth round, the first time she does that - and she will meet, yet another grand slam champion, this time, the defending US Open champion!
