Andy Roddick started the hard court season with a big bang by winning the Atlanta Open but closed it out with losses to players lower-ranked than him, so let's hope that he gets his confidence back as the US Open starts tomorrow.
He's in a very good part of the draw and will only meet his most likely first real opposition in Juan Martin del Potro in the fourth round. His earlier opponents could include Juan Monaco and Bernard Tomic, both no pushovers themselves. Anyway, Andy has US Open pedigree so he should be able to bring himself at most, to the fourth round.
