Roger Federer will meet American Donald Young (#80) in the first round of this year's US Open. It's their first meeting. Federer also has a relatively easy draw, and his potential opponents could include Fernando Verdasco, Mardy Fish and a possible quarterfinal with Tomas Berdych, which I think he should be able to handle well, since this is a hardcourt.
Tomas Berdych will meet Belgian David Goffin (#58) who I'm sure, will give him a good fight. His potential opponents as he progresses could include Denis Istomin, Sam Querrey and Florian Mayer. Federer should await him in the quarterfinal.
I pick Roger Federer to get the semifinal slot in his side of the draw.
