Heather Watson: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Reached the Third Roun of Wimbledon 2012

 

Local favorite Heather Watson, ranked #103, defeated Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic, ranked #55 in the first round of this year's Wimbledon 62 61.  Then, in the second round today, she defeated American Jamie Lee Hampton, ranked #100 in the world, 61 64.  

Her next opponent is world #3 Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland.
