French Open 2012 Women's Draw Analysis: Bottom Upper Draw

Whew!!! This is the toughest draw I have seen this year in a Grand Slam!  There's just so many of them grouped together here that it was not easy to take a pick for the semifinal slot.  The draw is led by world #3 Agnieszka Radwanska, who may have the misfortune of having to fight three Grand Slam champions just to get to the quarterfinals - Venus Williams (2R), Svetlana Kuznetsova (3R) and Ana Ivanovic (4R).  Another good performer during this clay court season, Sara Errani, is also here - poor girl!  Then there's Flavia Pennetta as well, Anabel Medina Garrigues, a clay court specialist, and last year's semifinalist, Marion Bartoli, who had a horrible clay court season.  I predict she'll lose to Anabel in the 3rd round, the way she's playing.

Anyhow, I pick Ana Ivanovic and Angelique Kerber to fight it in the semifinals.  Among this crop, they are the two standouts during this clay court season.  And - I pick Ana Ivanovic to get to the semi's.  Now, that would be quite exciting!
