Defending champion Li Na and 2010 champion Francesca Schiavone are both in this part of the draw - and Li Na would've to fight off some young pretenders to the throne even before she reaches the quarterfinals. She might have to beat German upstart Mona Barthel in the 3rd round, and clay court specialist, Carla Suarez Navarro in the fourth round. Awaiting for her there, will most likely be Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova.
This is also another pretty crowded draw. Aside from those mentioned above, Vera Zvonareva, Roberta Vinci, Jelena Jankovic and Monica Niculescu are all here - all capable of doing damage into the tournament.
Anyhow, I still pick Li Na to get the semifinal slot. She has been playing real solid this clay court season.
