Vera Zvonareva Denied A Third Time by Agnieszka Radwanska
Vera Zvonareva (#4) has found a nemesis now in Agnieszka Radwanska (#13), as she lost for the third time this year to Agnieszka Radwanska. This time, in the final of the Tokyo Open! She also lost to Agnieszka in the second round of Toronto and the Carlsbad title as well! The scoreline was 36 26.
However, Vera had a good tournament in Tokyo. She obliterated Petra Kvitova (#6) in the semifinals 76(2) 60 and Maria Kirilenko (#27) in the quarterfinals 63 63.
Vera's last good performance was getting into the quarterfinals of this year's US Open, where she lost to eventual champion, Samantha Stosur (#7) 36 36.
