Featured Player Guangzhou Open: Maria Kirilenko
Maria Kirilenko (#28) is one of Russia's top players and this week in Guangzhou, she reached the semifinals, losing to Chanelle Scheepers (#73) of South Africa 75 57 64.
In the quarters, she edged Tetiana Luzhanska (#140) of Ukraine 61 75. In the second round, she routed Iryna Bremond (#112) of France 63 61. In the first round, she defeated Alona Bondarenko (#140) 64 62.
