Russia expectedly gets my pick for the Elite Women's Team Award again! I don't think they have ever lost this award for the past few years, except I think for one Grand Slam where the US got it. In this year's Wimbledon, they had three players in the fourth round and in the French Open, they had six.
The depth of the Russian women's game is so deep that only Vera Zvonareva is in the Top 10 right now. Former US Open champion, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Anastasia Pavlychenkova are both in the Top 20, while Maria Kirilenko is in the Top 30.
The following are the other countries who have made it to the elite list -
Germany - 3 players in the fourth round
Italy - 2
Australia - 1
China - 1
Denmark - 1
Romania - 1
Serbia - 1
Spain - 1
USA - 1
