Italian Filippo Volandri (#86) has been playing mostly in the ITF circuit this season so it's good that he has reached the semifinals of the Bucharest Open this week, only losing to German Florian Mayer (#24) 76(3) 62.
In the quarters, he routed Joao Souza (#84) of Brazil 62 60. In the second round, he defeated Marcel Granollers (#31) of Spain 61 63. In the first round, he won over Rui Machado (#61) of Portugal 63 63.
