It always makes me happy that there is someone younger down the line who could possibly make tennis more exciting for Filipinos once more. Tennis is not really very popular here so I'm hoping there's someone out there among the young ones who can do for tennis what the Azkals has done for football.
Well, Jerome Romualdez is one of those guys, and he's already the #1-ranked player in the 12-under age group. He's part of the Xavier School tennis team, one of the local schools with a strong tennis program.
Well, I just hope he chooses tennis as a real career because judging from his school, he comes from a well-to-do family and his parents can easily push him to pursue the business course or lawyer-doctor route. That's when we'll really know if he really loves tennis and has the game to fight the Federers, Nadals and Djokovic's of tomorrow.
