Victoria Azarenka Wins Luxembourg Open
I guess Victoria Azarenka (#3) needed some prepping up before the WTA Championships set to start today but anyhow, she got what she wanted and promptly won her third WTA title this year at the Luxembourg Open. She also won Miami and Marbella this year.
She defeated Monica Niculescu (#34) in the final 64 64. In her semifinal, she disposed of Julia Goerges (#21) 63 63. In her quarters, she won over Iveta Benesova (#53) 63 62. In the second round, she almost double bageled Alberta Brianti (#73) 60 61. In the first round, she defeated Barbora Zahlavova Strycova (#44) 62 64.
She had some pretty competent competition so it was really good preparation for her. I just hope she won't fatigue in Istanbul!
