Petra Kvitova Slowly Finding Form Again in Tokyo Open
It has been a rough ride for Petra Kvitova (#6) after winning Wimbledon this year. She fell in the first round of the US Open, and did poorly in both Toronto and Cincinnati. However, here in the Pan Pacific Toray Open, she found some of her deadly form, enough to reach the semifinals where she had to retire, losing to Vera Zvonareva (#4) .
Interestingly, she defeated Maria Sharapova again in the quarters here 76(4) 76(4), as she did in Wimbledon.
