This hard court season really hasn't gone too well for Jelena Jankovic (#13). Her best performance was a finals appearance in Cincinatti in August. So this semifinal in Linz is a good thing since it may give her a little bit more confidence in her game. However, she lost to Petra Kvitova (#4) 64 46 36.
In the quarters, she trounced Evgeniya Rodina (#104) 64 62. In the second round, she edged Anne Keothavong (#96) 36 62 61, and Kateryna Bondarenko (#75) 41 Retd. in the first round.
