So happy that they are finally holding an ATP Challenger tournament here in Manila, I'm sure after the ATP and WTA Tour officials saw how successful the exhibition matches were these past two years.
Mikhail Youzhny of Russia would be the most famous among the participants. I will surely be there to watch him play! I'm also excited to see how our local boys compare to the foreign competition.
I actually prefer watching the actual in-competition tournaments rather than exhibition matches since here, they really play for points. This is just a Challenger tournament but hopefully, if the attendance here is good, they might actually hold an ATP-level tournament here in Manila, just like what they do in Kuala Lumpur.
I'm sure there are more tennis fans here than Malaysia and Singapore combined! I just hope they can find local sponsor willing to foot the very expensive bill of holding the tournaments here in Manila.
This is a yearly tournament kasi, so the commitment has to be at least a five-year period, just like what Singapore is doing with the WTA finals.
