Fernando Verdasco's Sweet Revenge over Rafael Nadal

Revenge is always sweet and I guess that's how Fernando Verdasco felt after handing Rafa Nadal a first round loss in this year's Australian Open.

Seven years ago, Rafa prevented Verdasco from getting into the finals of the Australian Open in a classic match that lasted more than five hours.

This time, Rafa looked listless and tired in the last 30 minutes of their 4 hour 41 minute match and it was amazing to see Verdasco serving aces and still delivering winners!

It's never easy to defeat Nadal yet accuracy and clean shots helped Verdasco make the fifth set dispatch of the former champion, look like a clinical procedure.

I don't know how deep Verdasco can go though into this tournament considering the tremendous effort he gave in this round and a slew of very talented players are waiting for him in this side of the draw, including Monfils and Wawrinka.

But if he keeps playing this way, he will surely go far.
