WTA Top Tennis Nations 2011 - #5 Italy
Italy is still one of the Top 5 nations in the WTA Tour, ending at #5 this year. It has six players in the Top 100 with Francesca Schiavone (#11) as the highest ranked. Flavia Pennetta is at #20, Roberta Vinci at #23, Sara Errani at #45, Alberta Brianti (#70) and Romina Oprandi (#82). Tathiana Garbin retired last year bringing down to six, their Top 100 players, making them slip from #4 in 2010 to #5 this year.
