Experience that Comes With Age: Becoming A Key Determinant in Grand Slam Success for Women Players
Li Na and Francesca Schiavone are just one year apart in ages, 29 and 30 respectively. Kim Clijsters, this year's Australian Open champion is 27. Yes, there are many fantastic young players on the tour right now, led by world #1 Caroline Wozniacki, but none of them have really made a serious dent on the Grand Slams. Not yet anyway. For the past few Grand Slams, the more experienced players have shown that they have the maturity to handle the pressures that goes with winning a Slam. There is still Wimbledon and the US Open coming up, so let's see if any of the younger players will upstage their more experienced older sisters in the tour. For now, the likes of Schiavone, Li Na and Clijsters have been showing the way.
