Analyzing the Women's Draw of Wimbledon 2011: The Fourth Segment of the Draw
The fourth segment of the draw is another tough place to be and my pick to make it to the semi's in this bunch is Russian Vera Zvonareva, who was a finalist here in Wimbledon last year. Her most likely opponent is Petra Kvitova, a finalist in Eastbourne last week.
The two other most likely contenders for that semifinal slot are Venus Williams who has won here many times, Svetlana Kuznetsova, a 2-time Grand Slam champion herself.
To make matters worse, the second tier list is also daunting. It includes Roberta Vinci, the 'S-Hertogenbosch champion this year; the Belgian Yanina Wickmayer; Jelena Jankovic, a Grand Slam semifinalist herself; and last year's semifinalist, Tsvetana Pironkova, who spectacularly ousted Venus Williams last year. There is actually a possibility for them to meet again.
