Comeback Player at the Tokyo 2010 Open: Dmitry Tursunov

I was very surprised to see the name of Dmitry Tursunov have a ranking of #432!  That's quite far from ATP Tour level rankings!  He has 6 ATP Tour level titles, with the last one coming at Eastbourne last year.  His highest rank came in 2009 when he reached #22, and exited the Top 100 last March.

Here in Tokyo, he had wins over Richard Gasquet and Ernests Gulbis, before falling to erstwhile champion, Rafael Nadal. Not bad for a guy that has been sideline for over a year now.  These successes should help him climb back slowly to the Top 100. I'm not sure though if he can make it in time for the Aussie Open. Maybe he has to qualify for it if he doesn't land near the Top 128 by January next year.
