Tomas Berdych (#9) of the Czech Republic has been under the radar in this year's Wimbledon, but with the shock defeat of Wawrinka because of del Potro, he now becomes the center of attention on his side of the draw.
He does have to neutralize the power of his up-and-coming countryman Jiri Vesely (#64) who has been on an upsets streak of higher-ranked players.
On paper, Bernard Tomic (#19) is his expected opponent in the quarterfinals and he also has a winning record over him.
If he does reach the semi-finals, it will be his second best performance here after being runner-up in 2010. I'm sure that is what he wants to happen.
