In her post-match interview, Dominika Cibulkova (#21) of Slovakia said that she was getting married the day of the Wimbledon final. However, she has been playing exceptionally well, that she may have to postpone it.
Already a runner-up in the Australian Open before, Dominika finally makes it as a Wimbledon quarterfinalist for the first time. She is set to meet Russian player Elena Vesnina (#53) in the quarters so she is the favorite to reach the semi-final slot of her side of the draw.
She just booted out Agnieszka Radwanska, who was one of the favorites to get the semi-final slot in this side of the draw. In the pre-tournament head-to-head, it was Petra Kvitova who was tipped by this blog to get the semi-final slot.
Serena Williams (#1) looms in the semi-finals and if she does get through Venus Williams (#8) will most likely be her finals opponent.
