Julia Boserup: Female Breakthrough Player for Wimbledon 2016

This is actually the first time I've heard of American Julia Boserup, currently ranked #225.  She had to qualify to reach the main draw and this blog awards her the Female Breakthrough Player Award for this 2016 Wimbledon.

This award is given to the lowest ranked player out of the Top 100 who reaches the deepest round in the specified grand slam.

Elena Vesnina (#50) of Russia ended Julia's Wimbledon journey 75 75 in the third round.

In the second round, Belinda Bencic (#13) retired 46 01 Rtd, which was a big bonus for Julia.

In the first round, she upset German Tatjana Maria (#104) 63 64.

With her performance here, Julia should be able to enter the top 200, at least, but she has long ways to go to become a fixture in the main draw of the grand slams.

But her performance here should inspire her to improve her game more.
