Evgeny Donskoy (#139) of Russia reached the second round of the US Open for the second time. He won over Frenchman Lucas Pouille (#65) 62 67(3) 62 64. In 2013, he was able to reach the third round, his best ever showing in any of the grand slams.
He lost to defending champion Marin Cilic (#9) in the second round 26 36 57.
He has actually reached the third round of the Australian Open (2013) and the US Open.
This is his fourth time beyond the second round of any of the grand slams.
