ATP's Clay Court Season Circle of Contenders 2011
We are now going into the third week of the ATP clay court season and starting this week, I am going to tally the performances of the active players in all the eleven tournaments this season, so that the day prior to the French Open, we can have a quantitative guess as to who the Top 5 picks are for this year's French Open. I will only list the Top 10 for every week - and the points system is based on the prize money for each of the tournaments.
This points system is after the tournaments in Monte Carlo, Casablanca and Houston.
1. Rafael Nadal (ESP) (#1) 768 points
2. David Ferrer (ESP) (#6) 384
3. Jurgen Melzer (AUT) (#9) 192
3. Andy Murray (GBR) (#4) 192
5. Ivan Ljubicic (CRO) (#40) 96
5. Federico Gil (POR) (#82) 96
5. Viktor Troicki (SRB) (#16) 96
5. Roger Federer (SUI) (#3) 96
10. Pablo Andujar (ESP) (#52) 64
10. Ryan Sweeting (USA) (#67) 64
