US tennis, in both the men and the women's side is undergoing some kind of renaissance as more and more young and new players are slowly making their presence felt in the Grand Slams. First up is #456 Madison Keys, who edged veteran Jill Craybas 62 64, her compatriot, ranked #114.
She lost to her next opponent though, veteran Czech player, Lucie Safarova, ranked inside the Top 40, 63 57 46. Because of her efforts here, her ranking zooms up to #296, a whooping 160 notches. She might have to qualify though if she wants to play in Australia next year.
