Another batch of new guards are making their present felt, and one of its leading lights is German Alexander Zverev, who may bring back excitement to German's men's tennis after Boris Becker bowed out of the game decades ago.
He is currently #4 in the world, and with his draw, he should be the one to get the semifinal slot in his side of the draw. He will surely face tough opposition from Austrian Dominic Thiem, who has been a double semifinalist already in a grand Slam (French Open '16 and '17), but since the court here is different, I put my bet on the German.
If Alexander wants this Australian Open title, aside from beating Thiem, he might also have to defeat both Rafa and Roger. Very daunting assignments.
