It was great to see Venus Williams playing again after being away for sometime. The game is not quite the same without her. Although she wasn't able to win the title, she had a decent return, reaching the quarterfinals, where she fell to eventual champion, Agnieszka Radwanska, 46 16. However, what is interesting were her scalps, Ana Ivanovic (4R), Aleksandra Wozniak (3R), Petra Kvitova (2R) and Kimiko Date-Krumm (1R). This is her first tournament after all, after a long hiatus - and to win over them meant she's ready to find her old form again.
