Juan Martin Del Potro Makes Another Semi's Breakthrough in Memphis
After making a breakthrough through to the semi's last week in San Jose, Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG) (#298) duplicates the feat this week in Memphis, this time though, he lost to the eventual champion, Andy Roddick. It has been a slow but steady rise again through the ranks for Del Potro, starting the year with two Round 2 finishes in Sydney and Melbourne, before bursting through the semi's in San Jose last week.
This was his path to the semi's -
SF - lost to Andy Roddick (USA) (#8) 36 46
QF - Michael Russell (USA) (#107) 64 62
2R - Ivan Dodig (CRO) (#62) 64 64
1R - John Isner (USA) (#24) 64 63
