Alexandr Dolgopolov (#26) reached the semifinals of the Acapulco Open 2011 and lost to eventual champion, David Ferrer. Alexandr easily disposed his first two round opponents and met some resistance in the quarters against Stanislas. He won a set over David Ferrer, but promptly lost the other two sets. He reached the finals of Costas Da Sauipe and the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, where he lost to Andy Murray. He also reached the quarters of Sydney.
