Garbine Muguruza is in a very crowded top upper half of the women's draw in Wimbledon 2017, and among all the esteemed players there, she has the best head-to-head among all of them.
And it helps that she was a runner-up here two years ago, so she knows what it takes to go all the way in this tournament.
Her 3rd round opponent is Romanian Sorana Cirstea, who is in her third third round appearance. Garbine should be able to win that match in two sets.
Her next probable opponents are current #1 player, Angelique Kerber and two-time grand slam winner Svetlana Kuznetsova. If Muguruza wins over them, she should get the semifinal spot on this side of the draw.
She may meet a surprise semifinalist in the form of American Alison Riske, and possibly, Simona Halep in the final.
However, just like the French Open, any of the remaining 16 women are capable of winning Wimbledon this year.
