Tim Smyczek: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Reached the Second Round of the Australian Open 2013

If you reach the second round of a grand slam, it just numerically means that you're in the top 64 in the world, that's why I'm featuring players ranked outside the top 100 who have reached the second round, since most likely, many of them even had to qualify for the main draw.  

First on the draw is Tim Smyczek of the USA, currently ranked #125.  He won his first round match against Croatian Ivo Karlovic, currently ranked #103 but was a former top 20 player, 64 76(5) 75.   That's a good victory for the American.  He will next meet David Ferrer of Spain.  Now, that's a tough opponent!
