Interesting Aussie Open 2013 First Round Match-Ups: Caroline Wozniacki vs Sabine Lisicki

It's the start of the Grand Slam season again and we start, as usual with the Australian Open.  I am now checking the women's draws and the first interesting match-up I found was between Sabine Lisicki and former world #1 Caroline Wozniacki.

Sabine has a 2-1 lead over Caroline and yes, they have met in the Australian Open before in 2008, which Caroline won narrowly in three sets.  However, Sabine won their last two meetings but that was way back in 2009.

Caroline is now currently ranked #10 while Sabine has fallen to #36.  But Sabine can still be a dangerous opponent.  She actually reached the fourth round last year, losing to Maria Sharapova.  On the other hand, Caroline reached the quarterfinals last year, losing to Kim Clijsters.  Caroline has also reached the semifinals her in 2011, losing to Li Na.  She also reached the fourth round in 2008 and 2010. 

Based on past results, Caroline should win this, again in three sets and it's going to be a very tough match.
