I have noticed that there have been a slew of young Americans ready to pounce the Top 100 this year. For example, we have Madison Keys, currently ranked #105 in the world, who won her first round match today against local favorite Casey Dellacqua 64 76(0), ranked #102. She looks like a competent player and if she does tour, she might just be able to break the top 100.
In the second round, she defeated Austrian Tamira Pazsek, currently ranked #30 in the world, 62 61. She will next meet Angelique Kerber of Germany in the third round.
