Florian Mayer: Semi-finalist PBZ Zagreb Indoors
Florian Mayer of Germany, currently ranked #38, has reached the semi-finals of the PBZ Zagreb Indoors, where he lost to countryman Michael Berrer. It's his second semi-final of the year after Sydney last month. He also reached the quarters in Brisbane. He only reached the second round of the Australian Open. Below was his path to the semifinals -
SF - lost to Michael Berrer (GER) (#66) 61 64
QF - Marin Cilic (CRO) (#20) 63 64
2R - Radek Stepanek (CZE) (#63) 76(3) 63
1R - Franko Skugor (CRO) (#181) 36 63 76(6)
It must have been disappointing for Florian to lose in the semis, after defeating Marin and Radek, both very good players. Anyhow, his semifinal appearance is a respectable performance.
