French Open 2017: My Picks on the Women's Side - Simona Halep

This year's French Open is one of Simona Halep's best chances of winning her first grand slam. Since she broke out into the main draw, Simona has been one of the players touted to win a grand slam, but until now, it hasn't happened yet.

This season though bodes well for her, after a great clay court performance and a title at Roland Garros should be the crowning achievement after a scintillating run on clay.

However, that would depend on how mentally tough Simona is, especially that with Serena, Maria and Vika out of the draw, the public's expectation for her to perform tends to rise.

Among the players she will most likely meet are Daria Kasatkina and Elena Vesnina, both of Russia, Madison Keys of the US and a possible semi-final clash with Polish player, Agi Radwanska.

Garbine Muguruza looms in the finals. This is all based on the current head-to-head.

She has been in the finals here before in 2014, so she has been battle-tested here. Time to step it up!
