I just love Dominika Cibulkova! This pocket rocket of a player suddenly disappeared this year, and I found out she was injured pala. It was her run to the finals of the 2014 Australian Open that she was really introduced to the world, and diminutive as she is, she has the firepower to intimidate players twice her height.
That happened today, when she sideswiped Ana Ivanovic 63 36 63 in the first round of the 2014 US Open.
Naawa naman ako kay Ana because ever since she has been ranked within the top 10 this year, her grand slam performances have been very dismal, ending it with a first round exit!
But still, kudos to Dominika because she never let up, even when she faltered a bit in the second set. I think, if she just had more match play, she would've closed everything there, but since medyo rusty sya, she allowed Ana to go back in the match.
However, she wasted no time to dispatch Ana in the third set, thundering off forehands here and there.
