Petra Kvitova: Czech Mates the Madrid Open

Petra Kvitova Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic celebrates winning a game in her match against Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in the final during day nine of the Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open Tennis on May 8, 2011 in Madrid, Spain.

Petra Kvitova (#18) got all our attention last year when she barged into the semi's of Wimbledon.  In her match against Serena Williams, you could really see that she had the game to make it to the top.  And today, she takes one step further to show everyone in the WTA Tour that she's a force to deal with in the next few years.  With such a topnotch draw, Petra wins her third title this year in Madrid.  She won Paris and Brisbane earlier this year.  She won over three Top 10 players in this tournament, to get the title.  This was her path to the championship -

F - Victoria Azarenka (BLR) (#5) 76(3) 64
SF - Li Na (CHN) (#6) 63 61
QF - Dominika Cibulokova (SVK) (#28) 36 63 75
