2015 US Open: Ruben Bemelmans Newer Challenges in Second Round

Ruben Bemelmans (#107) of Belgium reached the second round of the US Open for the first time this year by upsetting Gilles Muller (#44) of Luxembourg 64 16 64 64.

He will next face Jack Sock (#28) of the United States in the second round.

It's also his second time ever to be in the second round of a grand slam. In 2012, he also reached the 2nd round of Wimbledon.

Newcomer Belgian Ruben Bemelmans, currently ranked #131 in the world, reaches the second round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career, and it happens here in Wimbledon 2012!  He upset Argentinian Carlos Berlocq, currently ranked #37 in the world, 75 67(4) 63 76(2) to do just that!  He will next meet Frenchman Richard Gasquet (#19) in the second round.
