Martin Klizan: Player Ranked Outside the Top 100 Who Reached the Third Round of the 2014 Australian Open

Martin Klizan of Slovakia reached the second round of the Australian Open for the first time in his career by upsetting John Isner of the USA in the first round, who retired after two sets 62 76(6).

He then defeated Blaz Rola (#185) of Slovenia in the second round 64 63 57 76(2).

He will meet Stephane Robert (#119) of France in the third round.  He has a very good chance of being in the fourth round of a slam for the first time in his career.  He is, after all, the higher ranked player among the two!
